Dele Alli and Alex Iwobi have reacted to the latest Everton transfer news after Demarai Gray joined Al-Ettifaq, wishing him the best at his new club.
The duo responded to Gray’s Instagram post confirming the move away from Goodison Park, after a deal was completed to sell the winger for around £10million.
Despite a bitter end to his time at the club after a public war of words between himself and Sean Dyche, Gray clearly has a lot of friends at the club and has received positive messages from two of his former teammates.
Gray took to Instagram to confirm the transfer to his followers with a message stating “New Chapter. Ana Ettifaqi” as well as emojis of signature and a green heart, where Iwobi commented: “All the best my brother”, while Dele responded with a heart emoji.
Time to move on
After a transfer window with plenty of twists and turns with regard to the Jamaican international’s future, the move has finally been officially completed and now it’s time for everybody to move on on both sides.

The bust-up with Dyche will have left a sour taste in the mouths of plenty associated with Everton, in a sad way to go out despite a relatively successful spell with the club.
Ultimately, the club have made around £9million profit on Gray despite his performances not necessarily at the standard that would see a club spend 10 times his original transfer fee paid when Everton signed Gray from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Toffees would have benefited from Gray staying at Goodison Park due to the lack of depth at the club in his position, but the move became inevitable after the war of words after it seemed he could remain despite consistent links to moves away from the club.
