Everton make surprise move to sign Leeds player at late stage, could open door to more signings – Leeds United News

The Mail’s Simon Jones has reported in today’s print edition (September 1, p70) that Everton have made a late approach to sign Luis Sinisterra from Leeds United – in a move that could open the flood gates.
Sinisterra, 24, is back in the Leeds fold after refusing to play for the club for a handful of matches – alongside Willy Gnonto. A different scenario to Gnonto though, with legal issues central to the matter.
As we enter the final day of the transfer window, it is claimed that Everton have retained their interest in another of our players – having made numerous bids for Gnonto. Sinisterra has a loan clause in his deal.
A loan clause that has seen numerous others leave this summer. One of those being Jack Harrison, who has already swapped Leeds for Everton this summer. Now, Sinisterra could end up joining him today.
Jones claims that Everton have made a late approach for our Colombian star. It is unclear whether a move is a permanent one, but at this stage, it is likely to be a loan. It may force us to sign a replacement.
Well, it was always a possibility. The loan clause issue could be about to strike again and Sinisterra has one in his contract, like a handful of other Leeds players still at the club. Would he want to join Everton?
Harrison must be looking at Everton’s start to the season and be dreading another season down in the dumps of the Premier League. Plenty of time to turn it around, of course. It has not been a good start.
If Sinisterra does go – on loan, or permanently – you would expect the club to bring in a replacement. We have been linked with a number of wingers – Joseph Paintsil, Ola Solbakken and Jens Odgaard.
