Everton striker Tom Cannon is set to undergo a medical at Leicester after the two clubs agreed a deal worth around £7.5m.
Cannon had offers from Norwich City and Preston North End, while Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday had also wanted the player on loan.
The 20-year-old made two appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees last season, before spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Deepdale.
He scored eight goals in 21 games in the Championship, and Foxes boss Enzo Maresca will hope for the same kind of return as they look to bounce straight back to the top flight.
The forward’s arrival at Leicester is likely means a striker is likely to leave on deadline day.

Until now the Foxes have stuck firmly to their asking price of about £20m or Kelechi Iheanacho, which has deterred Crystal Palace and Wolves.
Patson Daka, meanwhile, is a loan target for AC Milan, while Jamie Vardy also remains at the club. Daka the likeliest of the trio to depart today.
