Finance Expert shares takeover verdict as 777 Partners news emerges at Everton – Goodison News

By Dan Plumley
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton
Dan Plumley has insisted that 777 Partners may be the final option on the table in the end for Everton to secure much-needed investment.
The Athletic reported on 23 August that Farhad Moshiri was back in talks instantly with 777 after investment from MSP Sports Capital had collapsed.
The finance expert admitted that despite negative reports surrounding them, 777 are known players in the market with investment in other clubs, but may soon be the only offer on the table.
“You’re certainly starting to see now and how it has played out that there is a real need for new investment,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“I think the sticking point has always been whether it will be a full takeover or whether it will be a partial investment.

It needs something, and the problem with that from an ownership point of view, and we can talk about in the broader picture, good and bad owners in English football, the problem is that it’s sometimes the only offer that is there.
That is probably something to bear in mind here in the bigger picture and how this is playing out, if 777 are back on the table, they are invested in football with a lot of clubs around Europe so they are a player in the market, they’re not an unknown.
It’s whether or not you want them associated with your club and that is often the problem, it becomes a case of if it is not them, it’s potentially not anyone else.
That’s probably one of the reasons why we are seeing them in the mix.”
