Chelsea look set to miss out on signing Joao Felix as Barcelona edge closer to reaching an agreement for the Portugal international. Felix joined the west Londoners on a short-term deal from Atletico in January, but Mauricio Pochettino opted not to make the move permanent.
The 23-year-old has made it clear his priority is to join Barcelona despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs. So, has taken a look at the latest news regarding Felix's future with just two days left of the transfer window.
Done deal
Barcelona are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, according to Pedro Almeida.
The Portuguese forward has prioritised a move to the Camp Nou after Chelsea opted not to sign Felix on a permanent deal following his loan spell at Stamford Bridge.
Barcelona priority
Barcelona are preparing to make a move to sign Felix before the transfer window closes on Friday, September 1, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer guru said: "Barcelona are prepared to activate the ‘operation Joao Felix’ in the next 48 hours — board working to find solution to make it happen with FFP.
"Joao is only waiting for Barca since his interview in July. He’d only consider other clubs or Saudi if Barca deal collapses."

Player stance revealed
Joao Felix is prioritising a move to Barcelona before the transfer window closes. In a statement on his future, Felix said: “I’d love to play for Barcelona.
"Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barca. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me."
Ansu Fati twist
Barcelona are open to letting Ansu Fati leave on loan or as a permanent transfer as they look to open up space to sign Joao Felix. Tottenham and Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the Barca youngster this summer – which would open up space for the Catalan club to pay for Felix's wages.
The Portugal international has already expressed a desire to join Barcelona.
Mauricio Pochettino decision
Mauricio Pochettino has already decided he does not want to complete a permanent deal for Joao Felix after his £15million loan deal last season, according to the Daily Mail. The Atletico Madrid forward joined the Premier League side on loan in January and played 20 times in all competitions, scoring four goals and recording no assists.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo confirmed the Blues will not be taking up the opportunity to sign Felix, adding that he will return to the Spanish capital.
