The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga is far from over and there could be new chapters to unfold in the coming months as PSG continue to try and convince the World Cup winner to renew his contract. The French superstar has been the topic of discussion at Real Madrid for the better part of three years but a move to Santiago Bernabeu is yet to materialise.
Mbappe is clearly a player that any fan would be open to having in their team. And Real Madrid are believed to be the favourites to sign him if he does leave PSG.
They are not the only ones though. As reported by L’Equipe (via The Sun), Liverpool remains an option for Mbappe next year.
Mbappe is set to stay at PSG this season, but might not be there much longer beyond that. The Frenchman could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2024, if he does not extend his deal.
However, it is believed that PSG still remain optimistic that they can convince Mbappe to sign a new extension. The French club could go as far as to include a gentleman’s agreement allowing him to leave in the summer of 2024, but in lieu of a transfer fee rather than as a free agent.
If Mbappe does end up leaving PSG, Real Madrid is everyone’s clear favourite to sign him. However, Los Blancos could face stiff competition in the race for the Frenchman’s signature with Liverpool rumoured to be very keen to sign him as well.
The English club are believed to have long been admirers of Mbappe. And with question marks around the future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s side cannot be ruled out as competition for the Frenchman’s signature.
